Ocean Exploration: Naval Science and Technology Camp

August 13 – 17, 2018
9AM – 3PM
URI Narragansett Bay Campus

The University of Rhode Island’s (URI) College of Ocean Engineering in partnership with the URI Inner Space Center (ISC) is offering scholarships for current high school students to attend the Ocean Exploration: Naval Science and Technology Camp. This week-long day camp will focus on exploring the ocean using marine technologies. Campers will be building and testing a variety of oceanographic tools and instruments, such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and ocean sensors, and engaging with scientists, who are involved in active missions to explore the otherwise “unknown ocean.”

With funding from the U.S. Office of Naval Research, full scholarships will be provided to the 20 students accepted to participate in the camp.  All applications will be reviewed and acceptance is based on merit and teacher recommendations.
